My niece stood in line for six hours. We were first in the Rush line and a man came up and gave us four free "Priority" tickets to the Gala. We were one of the first people in the theatre.

The movie is AWESOME. When Joaquin sings Folsom Prison Blues for Sam Phillips, it sent shivers up my spine. He starts out slow and uncertain and build in intensity to the point where the room felt like it was pounding.

Every time Joaquin is on stage (with or without Reese), you can feel the electricity coming off the screen.

This movie is definitely Oscar material.

You have to feel sorry for Vivian in the movie. And I was surprised at how dark John's father is protrayed. Nice to see Ontario recognized as the place John proposed to June.

It really is a heart wrenching love story with a happy ending.

The scenes with a young JR and Jack are relatively brief but pivotal to the story. And they do a great job of letting you know there was something special between JR and Jack. There is a great scene where they have this game of racing down the dusty road for about 10 feet and stopping quickly. As JR heads off to the air force, he pays tribute to Jack's memory by doing that dusty shuffle again.

As for the John/Vivian fight, it really is necessary for the story line to show the disolution of their marriage. I doubt John would have objected to the scene. You have to remember John was pretty messed up with drugs in those years and there was probably a lot worse that happened from time to time.

As for Joaquin's voice, the songs in the movie are just as good as the originals. In fact, the Cocaine Blues scene is even more electrifying that John's version from the album. Perhaps that is because there is video here but Joaquin deserves a lot of credit for his singing. As does Reese. I intend to buy the soundtrack.

Dort postet unter anderem auch der Enkel von Johnny Cash's Exfrau: (?)

I honestly can't say how fairly or unfairly my grandma viv was portrayed. BUT, I can tell you that one of my mom's strongest complaints about the movie was about her portrayal. She completely thought that Grandma's character in the movie was off.

Which is why, when people ask me how it is, I say "If you wanna see a good movie, see Walk the Line. If you wanna learn about my grandfather, buy his book."
