der kurze clip von "thats allright" rockt recht gut...richtige schärfe in der stimme von elvis....kling in dem kurzen ausschnitt besser als die anderen versionen aus den 50`s dieses songs....
und die qualität ist nicht sooo schlecht...zumal dies noch mp3 und werweisswoher ist...

The surprise on the set is the acetate version of LITTLE MAMA, a song recorded in 1954 and owned by collector Sherif Hanna. The quality is inferior to any Sun release, but it's history nonetheless. Elvis probably picked the tune up from the Clovers who had a hit with their version.

Tja, mich interessieren auch "nur" die unveröffentlichten Sachen und vielleicht das Buch... genau das Gleiche gilt für mich bei der Prince-CD (MSG). DA interessieren mich "nur" die 8mm-Aufnahmen.

Die CDs interessieren mich allerdings auch nur bedingt.
CD1 mit den Mastern in "bestmöglicher" Soundquali ... naja, ob da gegenüber der Elvis At Sun wirklich noch hörbare Steigerungen möglich sind wag ich jetzt irgendwie zu bezweifeln.

CD2 könnte da schon etwas spannender sein. Viele der unveröffentlichten Sachen hier sind zwar nur Schnipsel von eher uninteressanten Nummern wie Harbor Lights, trotzdem freu ich mich darauf, "Neues" von Elvis ersten musikalischen "Gehversuchen" zu bekommen.

CD3 wird wohl vorwiegend schlechte bis sehr schlechte Tonqualität bringen. Wenn ich da in der Vorankündigung nur schon mehrfach was von "very poor condition" und "some parts duplicated and edited to create near-complete performances" lese, ist mir eigentlich heute schon klar, dass ich dieses Teil kaum mehr als einmal durchhören werde.

Dafür dürfte das Buch der erwartete Hammer werden. Die ersten beiden Jahre von Elvis' Karriere nochmals nachlesen zu dürfen und in eine Fülle von Infos, Fakten, Neuigkeiten und raren Bildern einzutauchen, darauf bin ich wirklich sehr gespannt und dies ist mir auch den (zugegeben) hohen Preis wert.
