FTD auf DVD

Mich würde mal interessieren ob im Rahmen einer FTD - Reihe es auch mal von irgendeiner offiziellen EPE - würdigen Institution in Betracht gezogen wurde, uns Fans mit Filmouttakes zu beglücken.
Ich möchte meinen, daß es bestimmt eine Menge Material gibt das auf Eis liegt.
An Interesse kann es doch bestimmt nicht mangeln. Und ich möchte meinen, ich bin bestimmt nicht der erste, der sich für dieses Thema interessiert.
Weiß jemand von Euch etwas von irgendwelchen Leuten die sich dahingegen geäußert haben?

Ernst Joergensen hat gesagt, dass es auch vorstellbar wäre im Rahmen der FTD Reihe DVDs rauszubringen.

"Will there ever be a video/DVD release of out-takes from Elvis' movies?

We don't know. We certainly hope so. But, ultimately, it's not up to Graceland/EPE.

We do not own Elvis' movies and do not decide what is released from them. The various movie companies do. We have always liked the idea of a collection of Elvis movie out-takes being released. Whichever movie company or companies wanted to do something like that with their Elvis footage would need our approval to do a new project beyond the parameters of their original contract with Elvis. They would get our full cooperation and we have certainly made the suggestion when we've had the opportunity. It would be wonderful for the fans and wonderful new attention for Elvis' film career. However, while Elvis is our number one priority and he is his fans' number one priority, that's not necessarily the case with the film companies. They have hundreds of different films in their catalogs to deal with.

The out-take footage you hope to see might not even exist. Years ago, before Hollywood became as archival and preservation-oriented as it is now, it was common for footage left over after a film's final edit to be thrown away. Part of the reason was the high cost of film storage space. To do the research and digging to find out what Elvis movie out-takes might exist from up to 45 years ago would require a huge commitment of time, effort and financing. The film companies would have to be confident that they could recoup their investment through sales. They would most likely feel that a film like this would be of interest mostly to serious Elvis fans and not mass amounts of the general public. Also, there's the possibility that all the time, effort and financing to do the research would be spent only to find that there was little or no footage to work with. Of course, there are many other reasons that the film companies do or don't do something. This is just our effort to offer some insight into some of them. Also to help clarify that Graceland/EPE is not the reason this material, if it exists, isn't in release.

We hope an out-takes collection can happen or at least that some out-takes will surface and find their way into various projects to come - even if its just a few scenes added to a home video/DVD reissue. In the meantime we do have some "utlimate video/DVD" projects planned with Elvis' concert TV specials, which you can read about in the "status of footage..." portion of this FAQ. We are also working toward a great documentary on Elvis, which you can also read about in a section of this FAQ. grundlegend gehören diese aufnahmen soweit vorhanden den filmgesellschaften.

es kann höstens sein das man anderes material ( ähnlich dem behind the image material verwendet)....ansonsten hat ftd mit diesen erwähnten aufnahmen soviel zu tun wie die bäckerei nebenan.

kann auch gar nicht im interesse dieser firmen liegen....

wenn wir alle die dvds gekauft haben (in 4 - 5 jahren)

kommen dann neue " editionen" heraus....und sie kassieren nochmal ab....

zb die in elvis in hollywood verwendeten outtakes waren geil auf einer jailhouserock dvd gekommen....

Nun hat ja Jörgensen auch signalisiert, dass man eventuell und vielleicht und wenn die Sterne günstig stehen, auf FTD DVD´s rausbringen will. Aber wahrscheinlich meinte er Audio-DVD´s, wie von BMG geplant.

Q - What about more movie outtakes and clips?

E.J - The problem with movie outtakes is that there is no audio with it. It's different camera angles that exist, as a negative maybe, but there is no audio with it. The question is whether there is another song scene. We can only guess from the music tapes as to whether there could be a scene filmed of Elvis and Ann-Margret singing 'You're The Boss' or 'Today Tomorrow and Forever'. But with that movie we are told that there isn't such material, that they were never filmed. But some companies have outtakes. With Paramount it is as if that they have nothing at all, Fox has a few outtakes, MGM has some from the films but what it is I don't think anybody is ever going to know.
I've seen the water fountain scene from Jailhouse Rock in various takes but it is a little bit annoying as there is no sound to it and it doesn't make a lot of sense actually…
